Established in 2021, The Aurora Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, governed by an independent Board of Directors. The Foundation has applied for charitable status in Canada and anticipates this will be granted soon.
The Foundation is governed by a diverse Board of Directors. Fifty percent of the directors are women, and all the directors are members of the Black, Indigenous, Asian and people of color communities.
The Aurora Foundation is a granting organization, and does not provide any services directly. Rather, the Foundation seeks to partner with charitable organizations directly delivering services, and to fund innovative and novel approaches to addressing crime in Manitoba.
